Renting PEI provides legal information to clients through our inquiry line. We also have guidebooks that explain the Residential Tenancy Act in plain language. Our guidebooks are available online and in print in five languages.

Renting PEI is separate from the PEI Rental Office, but we can help you navigate and understand PEI Rental Office processes.
The PEI Residential Tenancy Office (also called the Rental Office) interprets and applies the Residential Tenancy Act. It uses a ‘complaint-based hearing system’ to help settle conflicts between tenants and landlords. You can find more information on the PEI Rental Office's website.
Renting PEI is one of Community Legal Information (CLI)'s three specialized programs.
CLI is a registered charity that offers plain-language information about laws, and support navigating the legal system in Prince Edward Island.
Renting PEI is made possible through funding from Justice Canada and the Government of PEI's Department of Housing, Land and Communities.
